GREEN DOOR IN WEALTY STOCKHOLM AREA

Green door in the Östermalm district in Stockholm, Sweden. The district is wealthy and has some of Stockholms most beautiful architecture.

The building is called Von Rosenska palatset was built in 1895–1899 for court stablemaster (hovstallmästare) Clarence von Rosen after drawings by the architect Isak Gustaf Clason.

Initially, there were two residential floors in the house, each with two floors. In addition, there were official housing and stables facing Storgatan and on the apartment yard (innegården).

The building was converted into an apartment building in 1941 when a floor in the middle of the house was added. Kvarteret, or the quarter/neighborhood is called Bajonetten.

The Bajonetten 6 property is blue-marked by the City Museum in Stockholm, which is the strongest protection and means “that the buildings are judged to have extremely high cultural-historical values”.
